Master aerobatics with the Black Horse Pitts Special ARTF (BH-85A). This 1500mm scale biplane features laser-cut balsa construction, covered with Oracover finish.

The Pitts Special is well known for its aerobatic prowess and the Black Horse version is more than up to that demand. Compact and light, the Pitts Special is designed for 1.20 two or four stroke, 20cc Petrol or a 120 class Brushless EP set-up. (Glow, Gas or EP)

Note: As an Almost-Ready-to-Fly (ARTF) kit, you will need to supply your own electronics and power system.  Not a model for beginners or those progressing from trainers, but quite manageable for a moderately experienced pilot.

Description

The Pitts Special is a light aerobatic biplane designed by Curtis Pitts. It has accumulated many competitions wins since its first flight in 1944. The Pitts biplanes dominated world aerobatic competition in the 1960s and 1970s and, even today, remain a potent competition aircraft in the lower categories.

When, in 1943 and 1944, Curtis Pitts designed and built a small acrobatic biplane, he certainly did not know that he was creating a legendary machine that would rule for many decades in competitions in most of the world - and will be produced today. And not only to manufacture, but also to build home-made factory ready-made kits or even according to plans. The most famous era was the 1960s and 1970s, when the tiny Pittsa at the aerobatic championships gave away with our Zlin. Pitts Special is an amazing acrobatic biplane and when it comes to elegance of appearance, and flight performance, today's aerobatic specials Pitts has a class of its own!

Semi-scale American single-biplane double-acrobatic aircraft for 20cc or 20-30cc. The fuselage of the model is a classic balsa / lightweight plywood combination, the removable engine cover is laminated. access to the electronics allows a large removable cover on the bottom of the fuselage. Two-piece wings with a symmetrical profile are also classic all-metal structures. The upper wing halves are joined by a dural tube coupling, the half of the lower wing is also pushed from the side to the tubular duralumin coupling. The upper wing is fastened to the trunk and the lower wing using dural (canopy) and structural wooden bolts with bolts. Ailerons are independently controlled by 4 servos with straight wire rods. Tail surfaces are classic full-body, rudder servos and elevator are stored in the cabin space. The whole model is coated with Oracover iron-on transfers. The chassis is of the spur type with wire legs and a controllable spur.
