The FMS Futura is a licensed sport jet developed by FMS in conjunction with Tomahawk- Aviation. Designed by a Sino-German team of engineers, the Futura represents the pinnacle of what a foam jet can be.
While retaining V1 features such as the CNC metal trailing-link landing gear for rough field operations, robust airframe with high-strength wing spars, oversized electronics bay etc, and V2 features such as 13g all-metal digital servos for increased precision and torque, improved durable and reliable plug-type connectors, the FMS 80mm Futura V3 is upgraded with added alternately flashing navigation lights on the left and right wings and taxi lights on the bottom of the fuselage, and a recognizable and attractive red-grey paint scheme.
With the increased interest and development of Electric Ducted Fans (EDF), FMS is proud to announce their 1060 mm(41.7 in) wingspan 80mm EDF version of the famous Futura. This is a mutual-developed airplane made by FMS team from China and TOMAHAWK Team from Germany. The original design and authorization is from TOMAHAWK, with the additional FMS top-quality concept, it is finally being a promised finest work. This EPO foam version of this quick flying aerobatic jet is another example of the FMS quality. Equipped with the new and improved 80mm fan unit, the Futura is capable of producing 3400 grams of force (7.5 LBF) of thrust. Coupled that with CNC-processed shock-absorbed metal landing gear set, digital metal gear servo throughout, the new Futura is absolute a must have for the pilot that “Feels the need for Speed”.
