Description
HPI's Maverick Microbe proves that big excitement really does come in small packages. This 1/24 scale off-road buggy squeezes proper racing technology into a compact chassis that you can run almost anywhere, from makeshift indoor circuits to backyard tracks. It is built on a solid 1.5mm anodised aluminium chassis, giving it a rigid and durable base, which is rare for a micro vehicle. This rigid frame works with the oil-filled coil-over shocks and independent suspension to give the Microbe a planted, precise feel. It's a tiny buggy that loves to carve corners, soak up bumps, and fire out of turns with confidence.
Under the "Top Notch" polycarbonate shell, there’s real hardware doing the work. The 2WD drivetrain is fully supported by ball bearings and features metal components where it counts, including the outdrives, axles, and rear dog bones. It also uses a sealed 3-gear differential for consistent performance. The body is held on with Velcro, so there are no tiny clips to lose, and the battery tray has quick-twist locks, making pit stops fast and fuss-free. This buggy is fully Ready-To-Run with an MSRS-702 2-in-1 ESC/Receiver, a peppy MS-030 brushed motor, an MTX-702 radio, a 7.4V 350mAh LiPo battery, and a USB charger all included in the box.
Putting the power down is where the Microbe really shines. Its dedicated Microbe
Racing Wheels and tires are designed to make this tiny buggy feel glued to the
ground, with an off-road tread pattern that finds grip on carpet, dirt, and dusty tarmac alike.
The vented 7mm hex wheels help the tires stay consistent over longer runs, while
the foam inserts support the carcass so the buggy stays sharp and predictable in fast direction changes. Whether you’re threading through a tight indoor layout or sending it down the street, the Microbe’s race-style wheel and tire combo gives you the confidence to push harder, lap after lap.
Up front, the Microbe is built to take a beating and keep its line. The rigid front bracing ties the suspension and chassis together for a solid, confident feel, so the buggy soaks up the bumps without the steering going vague.
Combined with the oil-filled shocks, the front end tracks smoothly over jumps and
landings, keeping the tyres planted and the buggy pointing exactly where you want it.
The result is a tiny car that feels tight and precise, whether you’re diving into a tight hairpin or bouncing across a rough, improvised off-road section.

Keeping you on track is as easy as peel, twist and play. The Microbe’s lightweight
polycarbonate “Top Notch” bodyshell is secured with Velcro, so you can pop it off
in seconds—no tiny body clips to drop or lose—while the ultra quick battery system
uses two easy-access 90-degree twist locks to release the pack in an instant.
Despite the fast access, everything sits snug and secure while you’re driving, staying
locked in place through rolls, jumps and hard landings. It’s the perfect balance of
convenience and durability, letting you spend more time driving and less time fiddling.
